If you have a reservation with us, you can always drop off your luggage here and pick it up later during our opening hours. If you don't want to leave your luggage in your room during your stay, you can also rent a locker from us for your valuables. We charge a €10 deposit for this. The lockers are located in some rooms or in the common area. They fit small backpacks, but not suitcases or large backpacks. 

Yes. We have our own parking lot at the back of the hostel, located at Noordstraat 78-80. You can park there during our opening hours. The parking fee is €15 per car per night. You'll receive a parking ticket at the reception desk, so we can verify your payment. Please display this ticket in a visible place in front of the window.

Please note that the gate is narrow. For example, a Mercedes Vito van will fit through it just wide enough. Dimensions: 2.20 meters wide, 3.10 meters high.

Sunday to Wednesday 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM

Thursday to Saturday 08.30 – 22.00 hrs.   

Check-in is from 3:30 PM (Tiny House from 4:00 PM). If you arrive later than our closing time and have a reservation, please let us know as soon as possible. If you've booked a private room, we have a night shift that will check you in later.

If you have a bed in a shared room, you must check in during the stated opening hours of that day.

Yes, there's an elevator, but unfortunately, our hostel isn't wheelchair accessible. To reach the ground floor, there are steps at both the front and back. To reach the first or second floor, there's an elevator as well as the stairs.

No problem at all! Unfortunately, our reception staff won't be available before 8:30 AM to ask how your stay went. There's a box at the reception desk where you can leave your key card. When we arrive, we'll check the cards, and you'll be checked out. If you have any questions, a volunteer is available at the bar from 7:00 AM.

You will receive an online check-in email 48 hours before arrival with additional information and a check-in link. It's not mandatory, but it is recommended that you complete this email for a quick check-in at Roots.

If this isn't possible, that's no problem. We're happy to help you check in at the reception. Don't forget your passport, ID, or driver's license.

We require a €20 deposit per person. This can be paid in exact cash or by credit card pre-authorization. The deposit is required for, among other things:

The use of our bed linen. The return of the room key and the follow-up of our house rules and possibly for borrowing a locker key. If everything is in order, you will of course receive the €20 back.

Our accommodation is intended for short stays and not for longer stays for guests outside Tilburg. For longer stays, we have a maximum of 14 days (2 weeks), although we will always remain vigilant to maintain the pleasant atmosphere at Roots. If the Roots team receives any signals that the atmosphere at Roots is not suitable due to the presence or behavior of a guest, the team reserves the right to take action. If you notice anything unusual, we would appreciate it if you shared it with us.

Hostel Roots is located at Stationsstraat 41, 5038 EC Tilburg. It's about a 3-minute walk from the station.

The Albert Heijn to-go supermarket is the closest. It's about a 3-minute walk away. You can find it in the central station. The Jumbo supermarket is also nearby, about a 10-minute walk away. The Albert Heijn XL supermarket is a 10-minute walk away if you're looking for a large supermarket.

Yes. We rent towels for €3.50. Feel free to bring your own. If you're staying in a private room, towels are included as standard.

Yes, we have a staff kitchen. Please ask our staff first if you can use it. We don't recommend preparing full meals; you can use the microwave, with the exception of the oven.

Unfortunately, the faithful four-legged friends not Allowed in our hostel. Except for assistance dogs.

You can smoke on our terrace in front of the hostel or in the parking lot behind the hostel. Please note that only cigarettes, vapes, or e-cigarettes are permitted. Weed, hash, or any other drugs are not permitted.

If you're with someone over 18, you're welcome to stay with us. This means you're not allowed to stay with someone under 18 unaccompanied, even if someone over 18 books for you.
